Skin&Co Roma Sicilian Body Gel Review

Hello, world.

Today, I will be reviewing one of the samples from my February Birchbox. It is the Skin&Co Roma Cleansing Body Gel with Olive & Sicilian Orange Extracts.

I was disappointed by this product. Birchbox was raving about it, and I was looking forward to trying it out. After I finally did, it turns out that this product did not live up to my expectations at all.

I like my shower gels super foamy. This product does not deliver on that side of things, which could be a big reason why I didnt like it. The fragrance is strange - a little orangey but also with a hint of something that I cant seem to put my finger on. Olive maybe? The fragrance isnt all that strong, which is also something that mightve played a part in deterring me because I like strong scents in my shower gels.

Overall, I do not personally like this product. Its probably one of those products that work long-term. For me, I feel like samples should work short-term so that we know whether or not we want to invest in it.

Have you tried this product? What did you think?

February 2013 Wishlist

Hello, world.

It is a little late for this months wishlist, but here we go anyway.

  1. Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Eye Cream: I found out a while ago that for women, our skin starts degenerating at about 20 years of age. Because of that, last year, I started looking more into anti-aging products. However, the eye cream that Im currently using is anti-puff. I really want something that starts reducing wrinkles now before they actually start showing up.
  2. Pantene Expert Collection AgeDefy Advanced Thickening Treatment: This product caught my interest because Ive never come across hair products that are anti-aging. I definitely need to try it, especially with my newfound anti-aging obsession.
  3. CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher Mascara: So, I always have trouble putting on mascara on my right eye because it clumps very easily for some reason. I want to try out this product to see if it lives up to its name.
  4. Face to Face Super Matte Anti Shine: My face gets oily and shiny very easily so I want something that will prevent that. This product apparently helps keep face looking matte all day long. And you can pick which spots you want to mattify.
  5. Jan Marini Age Intervention Face Primer: I have yet to find a face primer that I like. Im currently using an ELF one that I dont really like. The review will be in the ELF haul coming up. And this face primer has (Yup, you guessed it) anti-aging properties, LOL.
That is all for my wishlist this month. Looking back at my January wishlist, I realized that I never got around to trying those products. Lets hope that doesnt say the same for this month.

February 2013 Birchbox Review

Hello, world.

I apologize for my prolonged absence, but I am back with a review of my February Birchbox.

Color Club Nail Polish in Wild Cactus
$8 | 0.5floz | Birchbox.com

I took this picture with my phone, so the quality is not the best. It looks a little blue in the picture, but it is actually an emerald green.

I do not have much to say about it. This is my third or fourth Color Club nail polish from Birchbox, so I am getting used to it. I have not actually seen it under sunlight yet, so I cant be sure if I like it yet.

Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover
$22.95 | 4.2oz | BestBeautyNet.com

This is perfect timing on Birchboxs part in sending me this sample because Im running out of makeup remover. Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when I saw this because it means that I can delay buying new makeup remover for a little longer.

Im currently using a store brand makeup remover so obviously, it kinda sucks. It gets the job done and thats pretty much it. I tried this Lancome one last night and it took me by surprise. Its strange because it looks just like any other makeup remover but it feels completely different. Its smooth and feels moisturizing even. Despite being oil-based, it doesnt feel oily at all. In fact, it feels like water!

Skin&Co Roma Cleansing Body Gel with Olive & Sicilian Orange Extracts
$17.50 | 8.45floz | Birchbox.com

I havent had the chance to try out this sample yet so check back soon!

The February Birchbox also came with a Twistband Thick Headband in Black and a Ghirardelli Milk & Caramel Square.

All in all, Im quite satisfied with this months Box. Its not the best, but itll suffice.

Vaseline Intensive Rescue Repairing Moisture Body Lotion Review

Hello, world.

It has been brought to my attention that I should update more often. I agree! I have so much to blog about: two hauls, two reviews, a Birchbox on the way. Ever since school started, I rarely have time for much else besides my six classes and two jobs. I am still trying to wrap my head around a new schedule. Once I get into the groove of things, I should be updating regularly again.

I mentioned that I have two reviews in store for you. It is exclusive of this one. So, I actually have two more to follow. They are all from the Target haul from December.

The product that I am reviewing today is the Vaseline Intensive Rescue Repairing Moisture Body Lotion.

I live in Iowa, and we are infamous for our unpredictable and temperamental weather. We had mild weather today at 24F after a long week of being in the negatives. My point is that it has been painfully cold and dry. My skin, being as stubbornly dry as it is, always acts up every single day because there is no escaping being outside when I have to wait for the bus all the time.

When I picked up this product two months ago, little did I know that it would be the savior of my skin. The packaging boasts properties like "multilayer moisture," but being the skeptic that I am, I thought to myself, "Thats what they all say!" On the packaging, it also says that the product will relieve "very dry skin" in one use and "heal" dry skin in three days.

There is a lot to be living up to here, guys, but guess what? It is all true, every single one of those claims. The skin on my legs is always the driest so thats how I gauge if my skin is healthy or not. I always use lotion, but my legs are still dry even in the summer. After the first use of this product, when I woke up the next morning, my skin was as moisturized as when I first applied the lotion.

It doesnt stop there! After three days of using this product, I can tell that there is a difference in my skin - it wasnt as dry anymore. About a week ago, I grew lazy and stopped using lotion. Like I said, this past week has been really cold and dry. Scared, I checked my legs. . .They are not dry! This product really moisturized deep and healed my chapped skin!

I definitely recommend this product if youre in the market for body lotion.
